this looks like it can't find the jpeg loader. do you have
'libpixbufloader-jpeg.so' somewhere?

i have gdk-pixbuf-0.22.0-r5 installed on my gentoo but strangely i cannot re-emerge it-- seems to be gone. probably a temp headache that will go away with emerge --sync but my internet connection only works with an open window (and then, lossy) :)

i'd guess it could be
  USE="jpeg png gif" emerge gdk-pixbuf
